We are a church on mission to connect people to an everlasting, committed relationship with with Jesus Christ, and with others. It’s our vision to be a multiplying movement of passionate followers of Jesus who impact our community, and beyond with the grace, love, and hope. We want to invite you to partner with us as we live out our mission and vision in our communities.

Free Church was founded in 1984, as Bible Center Fellowship, in NE Salem, by my parents Pastor Ralph and Nadine Trask, who have served this city in ministry for over 60 years, with the Fellowship Network. Over the decades, we have seen many come to Christ, connect in community, and be equipped and sent out for ministry.

In 2009, I was privileged to become the Senior Pastor of Bible Center Fellowship. That September, we relaunched the church as Fellowship Church.

In 2017, we moved from our property on Market and Lancaster in NE Salem, to our beautiful campus on Sunnyside Road in South Salem.

In 2022, as the region emerged from the Covid-19 pandemic, we rebranded ourselves as Free Church to reflect our identity of being free from sin, free of shame, free in Christ, and free to worship.

In August of 2022, we launched Free Church Downtown in Downtown Salem, and began weekly services in September, 2023.
